Breast feeding the spiritual milk

From the moment of weaning man is looking for the spiritual milk of the feminine.

If he was not fed the breast then the grounding of his body and being is lacking that fundamental nutrition of liquid love.He is not fully anchored to his earthly body, to existence.

Like man ,if woman does not receive the sacred breast as a babe her own relationship to love is fractured,causing her to look outward for some connection to the source of her existence. There is a sense that something’s missing.

There is a hunger in every human being that cannot be filled save the food of love.

A world of eating disorders, self disgust of the body,an emptiness trying to be filled up.

When a mother feeds her baby she has the power in her breasts, in her milk to keep her child connected to the universe, the source of pre-embodied life.The breast is the bridge between the cosmic and earthly being,between the formless and form.

In the pure state of rested peaceful feeding a child drinks intoxicatedly, the eyes roll back in the head and utter bliss is beheld.It is an ecstatic communion between mother and child, earth and cosmos.The goodness and wholeness of being in a body and the wisdom of the universe reassuringly pours through this loving union.

For the mother the yoni opens and contracts,the womb energy is flowing and divine pleasure fills her.

The miraculous breast not only completely feeds the baby everything it requires nutritionally but spiritually too.The experience of this sensual pleasure is rarely spoken about between women and for some there is even shame in feeling such sensuality.

I remember my own surprise in fact shock, when I was a younger woman and I was taking care of my sisters new baby whilst she was out walking,having a break

Baby was tired but nuzzling my breast, mouth open innocently looking for the source of mother.I took my breast out and gave it to baby for Mama was not going to be home soon.To my surprise a tingling sensation went through my whole body,my heart blew open and an ecstatic energy ran from my yoni into my breasts as baby suckled.

When Mama was home I felt too embarrassed to tell her what had taken place even though it was incredibly innocent and natural.

As the weeks and months passed I gave baby my breast bringing comfort and rest and such a love existed between us that the mother often called apon me to put baby to sleep or to settle it.Later that same mother wet nursed my own baby when I was called into ceremony.

The knowledge of the breast’s spiritual potency for baby has been veiled because we haven’t given Mother her true place in society as yet.She is prized for here ability to get back to work, quickly establishing business as usual.She is encouraged to multi task and whilst the practicalities of life often demand her energy in two directions at once her greatest gift to her baby is to stay deeply in her own body in her womb, in a state akin to meditation whilst feeding.This way a whole transmission of nourishment can pour through the sacred breast.

There is a phenomena that has arisen from women being distracted ,technologically overloaded and in her mind rather than her body whilst breast feeding.

Have you noticed how our babies are totally fascinated and addicted to mobile phones ,computers and technology generally.The energy has been fed into them from birth as mothers chat on the phone, sending emails on computers etc whilst feeding.As our babies grow to teenagers they draw their major source of nourishment from msn,skype and chat programs talking to their friends til the early hours of the morning.

So much is transferred to baby through the breast. If Mother is in pain, feeling unloved, stressed,out of control ,in a state of disharmony it all goes into baby as a message that being in in existence equals pain.Screaming uncontrollably mother feels helpless to know how to settle her little one as there is no obvious cause because such a important connection is overlooked.

In no way is there any judgement or position on Mother as I write in fact my enquiry is born out of my own lack of understanding when I breast fed and since journeying round the globe sharing,witnessing other mothers.

The sacred breast is the Great Mother’s ( universal feminine mother energy) means of nourishing her earthly children on every level.

The purity of the breast has been demised and degraded into sexy tits,pumped up boobs,big knockers and images that are so far removed from the source of love they were created to to embody.Such consistently pornographic and sexual displays of the breast has led man away from understanding the purpose and nourishment and imbued women with shame, self disgust, dirtiness and inadequacy.The result ?Woman’s connection to the source through her breast has closed down, leaving her with more pain,inadequancy, confusion and fear to breast feed , fear her breast will lose their sex appeal and grow saggy.

Many women who cannot feed resulting from closure of the breast energy have the potential to fully open the channel of love and although bottle feeding still tenderly give the breast to babe.The physical milk may not arrive but the spiritual energy through that union of sitting in absolute loving presence will give baby the energy it needs to anchor the body and being of both mother and child.It will dissolve the shame or fear that baby is not getting what it needs and bring much healing.

Often in feeding Mother experiences the pain of her separation from the source or the surfacing of uncomfortable sexual experiences from the past.These past experiences lodge as a tight locked sensation in the breast and heart and with the baby suckling in all its purity like a powerful rain that washes a stagnant river clean,it has the potential to flush the old stuck energy in the breast.If a woman does not understand this purification that feeding brings she will be distracted, unsettled or busy in her mind in order to avoid the deep unlocking of past pain. Keeping her in the cycle of her distracted feeding .It is so important just to be with the sensations and feelings as they arise.Often all that is required is presence to the experience feeling or sensation until it passes. It also important to know that this process unfolds in all feeding mothers as a part of her own healing.

When Mother gives the full potential of the love of her breasts the spiritual milk will imbue the balance of her baby nourishing a whole and present human being.As a culture ,community and family around a feeding mother encourage the still present space for feeding.If chatting with a girlfriend over coffee wait until she has fed before sharing your stories.If you are a man ,give the support to your partner or woman to feed in presence, remind her to do this one thing instead of two.Bring consciousness in daily life to support this very sacred act of love.I remember feeding my baby in America in a diner and having people walk out they were so disgusted and in some states in the USA it is banned to do it in public.A great re-eduction is so desperately needed and it begins directly in our own communities and homes.
